Pimperne C of E VC Primary School
Pimperne, Dorset
Project Overview
Clearline Drainage was appointed to carry out a CCTV drainage survey at Pimperne C of E VC Primary School on behalf of an Educational Trust, who were preparing to assume responsibility for the site. The objective was to assess the condition of the existing underground drainage system and ensure there were no hidden structural issues that could result in future maintenance liabilities after the handover.
This proactive survey formed a critical part of the Trust’s due diligence and asset assessment process.
Our Approach
To deliver a complete picture of the system’s health, we undertook the following:
Performed a full-site CCTV survey using push-rod camera systems
High-pressure jetting was carried out to clear debris and ensure visibility
Inspected and documented all accessible pipework, inspection chambers, soakaways and surface drainage
Delivered a comprehensive report with:
WRc-compliant defect grading
Annotated drainage maps
Our survey methodology ensured a thorough evaluation while keeping disruption to an absolute minimum.
Outcome
The drainage system was found to be in good working condition overall, with only one isolated defect:
Issue Identified: Structural cracks
Recommended Solution: Installation of a structural CIPP liner to reinforce the affected section
Inaccessible chambers were noted (due to burial or welded covers), but with no signs of system failure, no further action was required. These were flagged for routine monitoring as part of an annual maintenance plan.
Additionally, all soakaways and land drainage systems on the school field were functioning correctly, with no evidence of surface water pooling or overflow.
Our reporting enabled the Trust to move forward with confidence, backed by a clear understanding of the system’s condition and a cost-effective repair plan already in place.
